CAMP LOCATION: The camp is located in California's splendid Tahoe National Forest, 1-1/4 hours north of Lake Tahoe, on the peaceful headwaters of the North Yuba River and adjacent to the Lakes Basin Recreation Area with dozens of pristine mountain lakes and miles and miles of hiking, biking, and horseback trails. CAMP FACILITIES: The facility is rustic, in keeping with its wilderness adventure program. Participants sleep in cabins and large traditional tipis. There is a bathhouse with private showers and flush toilets. In addition, there is an administrative building with the camp's office and health center, recreation hall, dining hall, bike shop, arts & crafts hut, pool, volleyball court, archery range, challenge ropes course, horseshoe pit, disc golf course, and a camp fire area including a stage.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The camp's focus is on helping children 8 to 17 take another step toward becoming happy, healthy, well-adjusted adults.
We promote positive youth development through a program that includes many of the summer camp classics, such as arts & crafts, archery, camp fire, dance, drama, games, swimming, etc., plus exhilarating wilderness adventure activities, such as rock climbing, mountain biking, mountain boarding, horseback trail rides, hikes, backpacking, etc.
We also offer three specialized program tracks in which kids who love rock climbing, mountain biking or outdoor living skills (backpacking) can really focus on those activities.
In fact, our program has so many fun activities kids can't do them all in a single week! After a day of team building fun and games designed so kids get to meet and know others, kids sign up for activities every other day. They are not locked into a block schedule. Rather, they can sign up for the activities they really enjoy, or to be with friends. After all, when people think of camp, they think of fun and friends.
